News from the 4-Corners

This is my first time ever doing something like this so not to sure how it will all turn out in the end!! I have been really wanting to set up my own blog for a long time since I have had the chance to see what a lot of my family and friends have done!! You are all so creative!! It is also so nice to try and keep up on everyone's lives since we are all so spread out around the country!!

Well as for my family we had a big change happen in our life a year ago!! Doug and I and the kids headed for Cortez, CO 4-Corners for a big experience!! Little did we know what would happen and where this would lead us!! Doug soon got a job offer as a Loan Officer at Citizens State Bank in Cortez!! Doug went ahead and took the offer and moved to Cortez in December, 2007. My kids and I stayed behind for the holidays and then decided to move the first of January, 2008!! We ended up moving in a huge snow storm which was not fun at all but as I now look back I am very thankful we moved when we did!

JON AND HIS FAVORITE PAL HAYDEN

We have had many new and fun adventures here in Cortez!! We love the area to say the least it is so beautiful here!! It is beautiful all the way from the San Luis Valley to Cortez!!

WE LOVE TELLURIDE, JON WANTS TO LEARN HOW TO SNOWBOARD HERE THIS WINTER!!
MOM'S NOT SURE ABOUT THE IDEA!!

I love the Mountains here and the different rock formations that surround us!! I also love Mesa Verde there is nothing like it!! I had always heard of Mesa Verde but had never been there, there is just so many pretty places all over Colorado. It is definitely God's country!

PLAYOFFS AND TITANS TOOK 3RD JON IS #87 IN FRONT AS CENTER IN BLOOMFIELD, NM

Well Jon is in 5th Grade now and loving it he wrestled in February and then moved to Baseball this Summer and then to Football in August!! He loves sports and is a great player! He has made many great friends from both Cortez and Dolores!! He is also in Knowledge Bowl, Student Council and Gifted and Talented in school!! He also loves to sing and is in Mesa Elem Howlers Honor Choir! He is just a all around good kid. And I am still not sure where he gets all of his talent! His Baseball team was the Colorado Rockies and they took 3rd in tournement and his Football team was Montezuma Titans and they took 3rd in playoffs with Jon as Center and on the Defensive line.

As for Shyanne She has loved the move to Cortez but really misses all of her family to especially her Nana and Shelby and Shanay!!

SHYANNE AND HER GRUMPS TAKING COWS HOME FROM THE MOUNTAINS SHE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!

She is in the 1st grade and is one of the tallest in her class including boys! Everyone always thinks she is a lot older then she looks and as she gets older Doug and I may be in trouble because of this! She is a spit fire and always up to something! She was a cheerleader for Jon's football team and loved it although she broke her right arm at one of the practices messing around. She was pretty upset about the whole thing except she got to have a bright pink cast which helped the situation!

Shyanne, Brayden and Megan she loves them lots and misses them both!!

She also in September had her tonsils taken out so we were dealing with both the tonsils and broken arm at the same time. The ENT took her tonsils out because she was on the verge of sleep apnea which her father has. She is now doing much better and we have already seen a big difference in her. She loves school and has made lots of friends also! She is continuing to read lots of books and loves Dr. Seuss! She also loves High School Musical and was one of the cheerleaders for Halloween! She is also in Dance which consist of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop!

As for myself I just keep busy keeping everyone where they need to be and helping them take care of their school work. Doug is also taking extended studies through Adams State to finish his Business/Finance Degree!! I also have been working with the Developmentally Disabled in Cortez and love working with each of our clients. I work and our Day Program Mon-Fri and then I work Sat's from 3 to 9 Sun Mornings staying in one of the clients homes taking care of 3 ladies. I have been doing this since Feb. and find it challenging and times but I also love trying to help others and maybe I can make a difference in someone else's life to!!

This Summer we went on a trip with Doug's family to San Diego, CA!! I had not been there since I was around 9 and it was so exciting!! On our way we stopped at the 4-Corners and the Grand Canyon which was totally awesome!! Then we went to Las Vegas didn't much care for the people or traffic we just drove down the strip in the night! I guess to enjoy it you really need to stop and get out and go see the different attractions but we didn't have enough time. We also went by Hoover Dam and on to San Diego!! We went to Sea World to see Shamu, we also went to Mission Bay Beach and Coronado Beach and went swimming in the Ocean!! We went on a ship tour out into the Ocean and then to the zoo. On our way home we went straight East into Arizona and went to Organ Pipe Monument to see cactus that are way tall and huge never seen anything like it!! We then went to Tombstone to see Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp it was great!! we then came straight up North and back to the 4-Corners. It was so much fun we can't wait to go back someday!!
